If you’re in Cape Town over the next few summer months, there is one activity that you have to add to your list of activities. Picnic under the stars and watch one of your favourite movies at a Galileo Outdoor Cinema venue near you.
On the opening evening of their season, I was lucky enough get two complimentary media tickets to watch Tom Cruise’s 1988 movie called Cocktail. I’m not a fan of Tom but after watching the movie, I can see how his career got off to a great start.
My friend Ingrid and I had a great evening: we set up our blankets and chairs, checked out what was on offer at the variety of food stalls and we even dressed up in some fun props and had a framed photo.
The highlights of the evening included the great old school music playlist that played during the pre-screening picnic time; and sitting outside on a beautiful summer evening under the stars watching a movie that was first aired when we were about 2 or 3.
Galileo are hosting many outdoor screenings at multiple venues around Cape Town including Kirstenbosch Gardens, V&A Waterfront, Hillcrest Quarry, Cape winelands and other rotating venues so take your pick from this season’s line-up and book your tickets today.
P.S. Spend a few extra bucks and buy Warm & Comfy tickets where you get your ticket, blankets and reclining chairs. The Galileo team is friendly, organised and helpful and from my experience, I can guarantee you that you’ll be impressed with the set-up and service.
