Zambia is a landlocked country which is situated on south central Africa and its name come from Zambezi River. The country is bordered by Tanzania to northeast, Malawi to east and Zimbabwe to south and the country is divided three main agro ecological regions

IMPORTANT PLACES TO BE VISITED:

  • VICTORIA FALLS: Victoria Falls is the most amazing waterfall in the world and greatest attractions in Africa, it is located on the Zambezi River the fourth largest river in Africa .It forms a border between Zambia and Zimbabwe .The length of the waterfall is more than a kilometre and it can be heard from a distance of 40 kilometres.
  • NYIKA NATIONAL PARK:The national park is at a height of about 2600 meters above sea level which covers an area of 3200 square kilometre. It is most famous for its flora and different species of orchids and rare wild animals, butterflies etc
  • THE LIVINGSTONE MUSEUM : The Livingstone museum is the oldest and largest museum in Zambia near victoria falls .The museum is divided into different categories like archaeology, history, ethnography and natural history
  • SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK: The south Luangwa national park lies between rising mountains of eastern Zambia and it has elephant herd and hippos, buffalos and other animals.
  • LIVINGSTONE :It is considered as the best amazing places for safari goers and adventure travellers and easy access to Zambezi national park and white water

  • Victoria falls which is one of the seven wonders of the world is located between the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe
  • The country is bordered by Congo to the north,Tanzia to northeast, Malawi to east,Zimbabwe,Namibia to south and Angola to west
  • Majority of the population are Christians from different denominations and it is spited into Roman catholic or Protestant and even other traditional religious are also practised
  • Lusaka is the capital and largest city of the country and the country has a population of 15.9 million people
  • English is the major language of Zambia along with other dialects like Bemba,Nyanja,Tonga and Lozi
  • Northeast region of the country is with oldest rocks which is volcanoes and granites of Bangweulu block ,these are 2.5 billion years old and they are unaffected by organic process
  • There are 72 languages spoken in Zambia, from a range of different origins, including 18-19th century migration and among this only one of it is considered the official one
  • Kariba is the Africa’s largest lake and it is the man made one until Egypt’s Aswan dam was built in 1971
  • The country was known as northern Rhodesia before the country got Independence in 1964 and the name Zambia comes from the Zambezi river which flows along the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe
  • Zambezi is the fourth largest river in the world
  • The flag is featured with tree stripes of red black and orange on a green background
