Margaritas and the sunshine go together like peanut butter and jelly. To us, they’re synonymous with afternoons at the beach and carefree summer evenings. They’re also synonymous with the Florida Keys!
Traveler Interview – Christina Loiacono from Zerve
Our Margarita recipe is healthier than some as we do not use any simple syrups. In fact, the recipe is very quick and easy to whip up!
Ingredients:
- 1 c of Simply Limeade
- 1/4 cup of tequila (brand of your choice)
- 1 “splash” of Triple Sec Liquor (brand of your choice) (Optional – this will sweeten the drink, but will also add calories)
- 1/4 c of crushed ice
- Juice from a wedge of lime
- Margarita Salt (Optional)
Directions:
Pour liquid ingredients into the blending machine (We use a magic bullet for smaller batches and our conventional kitchen blender for larger crowds.). Add ice to the blender. Blend until you’ve reached the desired consistency.
Use lime wedge to rim the glass.
*Optional Salt* Place rim of glass in salt.
Pour liquid from blender into glass. Squeeze wedge of lime into a margarita. Serve immediately.
This recipe is for one serving.
Whether you are by the beach, in a concrete jungle or landlocked in Iowa a margarita is a refreshing and delicious drink. Just one sip and you’ll be daydreaming of a warm, tropical paradise – even if you are in Iowa. In December. With no heat…OK, not really.
